Farewell from Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey & Mr. Dean Harvey

Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey
December 30, 2022

Dear Friends,

As we prepare to begin our journey to Texas, I write with a heavy heart.

Thank you hardly seems appropriate to express my and Dean’s deep gratitude for you.

You were gracious and patient with a new bishop, and you taught us what it means to be Louisiana Strong.

You are resilient, gracious, off-the-charts hospitable, and loving. You modeled, and continue to model, what it means to hold nothing sacred but the mission for Louisiana and for The United Methodist Connection.

You taught us to love and adore the rich and diverse Louisiana culture. From foods such as gumbo and jambalaya to king cake and po’ boys. We have learned to root for the Tigers, Jaguars, Bulldogs, and Saints.

Continue to love God, love one another, love your neighbor, and may you always hold nothing sacred but the mission.
Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey

Our ears will forever remember the jazz, blues, and even zydeco.

We have truly loved every minute!

A part of you accompanies us in this next assignment, and we leave a part of us with you.

We thank you for the notes, texts, messages, and gifts, but even more importantly, we thank you for giving yourself to us.

Continue to love God, love one another, love your neighbor, and may you always hold nothing sacred but the mission.

Dios Los Ayude y Los Bendiga,

Cynthia and Dean
