ERT Training: Needed Now More Than Ever

In the aftermath of Hurricane Laura, the Office of Missional Engagement and Outreach is offering two ERT training events this Friday, September 18 at First UMC in Pineville, LA.
|
Two of the greatest needs facing us right now are the need for those trained in site assessment and in hosting incoming ERT teams.
To meet this need we are offering two 200-level classes, which will equip you for both of these tasks:
- Assessing damage to homes and input those needing help into our online database (Site Assessment)
- Assisting in hosting incoming ERTs, either in their local church or in a church in their area (On-Site Management)
These two 200-level classes will begin at 8:30 AM and conclude at the end of a working lunch.
Participating in these classes will qualify as your ERT recertification.
Non-ERTs may take these classes if they wish to assist our response efforts in the above ways, but they will not receive ERT certification.
In order for those who have never taken ERT to be certified, they must take the ERT Basic Training. An ERT Basic class will be offered at 8:30 and will conclude by approximately 3:00 PM.

Details:
- Cost: $25 for either the two 200-level classes or the ERT Basic class. This covers material, T-shirts, and background checks.
- Lunch will be provided for those registering online.
- All walkup registrants are asked to bring a brown bag lunch.
- Online registration will be open until noon on Thursday.
- Walkup registration will begin at 8:00 on Friday.
Any questions, please email us.
Thank you for your continued prayers for those impacted and for your continued faithful service.
