Get ready to see one another!

The Louisiana Conference's 2022 annual conference session will be back to an in-person event and will be held the week of June 13-17 (specific days with specific events will be released soon) in Baton Rouge, at the River Center, located downtown.

"As exciting it is to announce the dates and location for annual conference, I am even more excited to announce that we are planning to be IN PERSON," says Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey. "I know I am not alone in a desire to gather together as one body finally. I am incredibly thankful for the patience displayed by our clergy and lay leaders over these last two years. Holding annual conference over ZOOM was certainly not preferred but it was necessary. Thanks to vaccinations and proper protocols, we feel confident that an in-person gathering can occur in June of next year."

The annual conference design team will continue to follow state and local guidelines, as they have for the past two years. It is expected that mask-wearing and social distancing may still be recommended so please stay tuned for more details as we draw closer to June.

Bishop Harvey says Baton Rouge offers a central location that can accommodate our large group.

"The River Center can hold large groups of people and has committed to remain flexible as we plan," she says. "We will have plenty of room that will allow for safe distancing should it be needed throughout our business sessions.  There are also nearby worship spaces that will provide a holy space for our ordination and other services."

For now, circle the dates (June 13-17) and stay tuned for more details regarding agendas and hotel accommodations.
