An Easter Greeting from Bishop Delores Williamston

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, RISEN Jesus Christ!
As we celebrate Easter Sunday, I wanted to take a moment and share some thoughts with each of you because I am filled with a renewed sense of hope and possibility.
Recently, I had the opportunity to embark on my Boots on the Ground tour across Louisiana. Ever since I have been giving thanks for that tour!
From the north to the south, east to the west, I traveled over 1,000 miles. In addition to meeting so many incredible people dedicated to positively impacting their churches and communities, the tour reminded me of what is possible when we are connected as one body with a common purpose.
While the tour itself has come to an end, we are marching forward, Amen!
And that forward movement should be a movement with and toward HOPE!
We must continue building bridges and finding ways to connect with one another, even in these challenging times. Friends, this is the heart of what it means to be a community, and it is something that we must strive for every day.

As we celebrate Easter, let us remember the power of hope and possibility. Let us renew our commitment to Christ, to one another, and to building a better future for all of God's people in God's ever-expanding kingdom! With faith and perseverance, we can (and will!) accomplish extraordinary things in the name of our RISEN Savior Jesus Christ!
This Easter, I give thanks to each of you!
As you know, this is my first Easter as a bishop in the United Methodist Church. I cannot begin to thank each of you in the Louisiana Conference for the warm welcome and the unique southern hospitality - ya'll, that 'southern hospitality' is a thing, and I am so grateful!
As me and my dog, Odin crossed into Louisiana, I never in my wildest dreams could have anticipated such a warm welcome. Your prayers have been felt deeply and are a testament to the strength of our connection to one another.
As we move forward together, let us remember the HOPE of Easter. May that HOPE give us the confidence to dream big, envisioning a future full of possibility and purpose.
