Rossnagel is new Director of Communication Strategies, Backstrom to serve as Communication Liaison

April 27, 2016
Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey is pleased to announce Todd Rossnagel as the Director of Communication Strategies for the Louisiana Annual Conference.
Rossnagel’s assignment is effective July 1, 2016. Under the new structure, current Director of Communications, Betty Backstrom, will assume the role of Communication Liaison in a part-time status. Jamie Warren, Communications/Web Assistant for the conference, has resigned her position on the staff due to health reasons after eight years of faithful service.
“I am delighted to have Todd join our staff. He is a gifted storyteller and brings a wide range of experience to our life and work. He and Betty make a great team as together they usher in a new era of communications focused on the use of technology and the use of social media,” said Bishop Harvey.
Todd has spent his entire life communicating. After a 16-year career in broadcast television, including 12 years as an anchor and reporter, Rossnagel has been managing a media department for Louisiana Economic Development, which has included video production and social media management.
He has also been active in the United Methodist Church, having served as a lay leader at First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. From video production to social media training, Todd has been sharing his gifts with congregations all across the Conference.
In July of 2014, Todd accepted a deeper call into ministry, exploring the path toward becoming a licensed local pastor. He will receive his local pastors license at this year’s Annual Conference.
Todd grew up in Mandeville, La. and graduated from the University of New Orleans. He and his wife Jennifer live in Walker with their two children, Abby and Blake.
