'James 1:27' ministry group from First UMC, Alexandria builds wheelchair ramp

The “James 1:27” ministry group, a service group comprised of members of First United Methodist Church in Alexandria, recently built a wheelchair ramp for an elderly couple.

Maxwell and Jackie Jeane, along with their grateful children and grandchildren, were so moved by the gesture that they sent a letter of thanks to the church, praising the ministry group and writing that “many more people will be blessed with your work.”

Inspired by the verse James 1:27, the group seeks to serve elderly and homebound members of the church and community by providing help with small electrical, plumbing and construction projects.
