Offerings at Annual Conference total $46,424

A total of $38,333.11 has recently been contributed by Conference churches for much-needed supplies for UMCOR health kits. An offering received at the June 8 Communion Service (during the 2014 Louisiana Annual Conference), plus recent donations made after the Conference, bring the funds to the current total.

A collection taken during the June 9 clergy session in Brown Chapel on Centenary’s campus generated $1,563.42 for the denomination’s Central Pension Initiative, which helps to provide clergy pensions in the central conferences.

Scholarships for missions through our campus ministries will receive $2,331.20 from an offering taken on June 9 during the Celebration of Life Service, which remembers those clergy and clergy spouses who have passed in the last year.

During the Tuesday night Ordination and Commissioning Service held at First UMC in Shreveport, a total of $4,196.33 was received and earmarked for a trip to the Holy Land for new ordinands.
