A total of $23,000 was raised by the United Methodist Men’s chapter at St. Paul’s UMC in Monroe for the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston. The money was raised in October at “To-Do at the Zoo,” an annual event featuring 20 of St. Paul’s favored chefs serving food from the pavilion at the Louisiana Purchase Garden and Zoo in Monroe. Live entertainment for all ages added to the fun of the event. More than $100,000 dollars has been raised over the past nine years. During services at St. Paul’s UMC, Gary Strebeck from the children’s home received a $23,000 check from Paul McElroy of St. Paul’s UMM chapter.
