Conference vote impacts Retired Ministers Home’s Board

A mail ballot of the Conference members (delegates) from the 2012 Annual Conference session was conducted in October. The ballot was in regard to the tax status of the Retired Ministers Homes’ Board. Conference members approved the changes as presented in the motion from the Retired Ministers Homes’ Board. This decision allows the Board to apply for tax exempt status as a non-profit organization. The action was necessary due to a change that excluded the Homes’ Board from participating in the denomination's tax exempt status.
