Bishop asks conference to help with Sandy response

As we continue to hold our own brothers and sisters affected by Hurricane Isaac in prayer we now lift up in prayer our brothers and sisters who are recovering from the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy.

 

We know all too well about Hurricanes and Tropical Storms as we have been battered so badly ourselves. In the past eight years, our conference has been blessed many times by the generosity of United Methodists from across the connection. The generosity of our United Methodist brothers and sisters has been instrumental as we responded to needs in our conference. We now have an opportunity to be the hands of Christ to others who are suffering.

 

Please let your congregations know that every dollar they give goes to disaster response. Staff expenses are covered elsewhere. Further, the final impact of UMCOR dollars is multiplied by all the volunteer labor that will also be contributed.
