Rev. Gloria Fowler and Rev. Karli Pidgeon from the Louisiana Office of Congregational Transformation and New Church Development invite United Methodist churches in the Louisiana Conference to meet them at the Mountaintop, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Louisiana Ave. United Methodist Church in Lafayette.
The Mountaintop Retreat will be an exciting time where pastors and church leaders will work together to design new and impactful strategies to energize and grow their local churches.
Attendees of this retreat will leave with numerical goals and a time-based strategy to implement plans in the vital ministry areas of Invitation, Worship, Retention, Discipleship, and Outreach.
Rev. Edlen Cowley, the retreat leader, is an elder in the North Texas Conference where he has served for 18 years.
Edlen has served in inner-city, suburban, and small town settings, has started two new churches, and is currently serving efficiently and effectively in a quickly growing cross-racial/cross-cultural appointment at Fellowship UMC in Trophy Club, Texas.
Blessed with the knowledge he gained growing up in the CME church, all that he learned in his years serving at St. Luke "Community" UMC under the leadership of Zan Wesley Holmes Jr., and in the other ministry settings he has served, Edlen is leveraging his experience to create excellent teaching that will lay a great foundation for a new season of ministry for pastors and churches.
Edlen is inviting you to "meet him on the mountain" for a time that will transform your church and your ministry.
