Listening Sessions

Bishop Harvey and the District Superintendents of the Louisiana Conference thank the nearly 1,500 people who attended one of the seven listening sessions all across the Conference.

These listening sessions were designed to discuss the 2019 Special Session of the General Conference in St. Louis February 23-26, 2019. All the while, we had a chance to listen to one another and to ask questions.

Below you will find a video of one of the sessions. This particular video was from the session in Lake Charles at First United Methodist Church, Lake Charles. Each of the sessions contained the same presentation that is found in this video.

During each of the sessions, Bishop Harvey referenced the following report as well as the Mission, Vision and Scope of the Commission on a Way Forward. Additionally, she referenced Anatomy of Peace, a book used used by the Commission for much of its work.

Each session also included time for the bishop to answer various questions. We will be compiling those questions into a Frequently Asked Questions section - that work is in progress, so check back frequently.

If your question is still not answered, please feel free to contact us directly through this email address

Bishop Harvey cannot answer comments that are in the form of questions and will not respond to questions that violate the first general rule - do no harm.
