The 2016 South Central Jurisdiction meeting of United Methodist Women is slated for April 15-17 in Oklahoma City. “Fresh Wind Blowing” is the theme for the event, which will be held the Cox Convention Center, with lodging at the nearby Renaissance Hotel.
Rev. Connie Sazion from the Louisiana Conference will serve as guest speaker at the banquet on Saturday night and Rev. Janet Wolf, who currently serves on the national staff of the Children’s Defense Fund, will lead Bible study earlier that morning.
Marcus Briggs-Cloud of the Maskoke Nation will be sharing his music and his thoughts with us during the 2016 meeting. Briggs-Cloud Nation is an academic, activist and musician.
The Expressive Worship Choir from St. Mark UMC in Baton Rouge will perform at Sunday morning worship during the event.
Participants can attend any two of the interesting workshops that will be offered on Saturday afternoon—or can choose to participate in a mission visit away from the convention center.
