The Louisiana Conference is pleased to announce that Bishop Delores Williamston will embark on a tour of the Louisiana Conference beginning this month. 

The Boots on the Ground Tour, which will take place over several weeks until March, will allow Bishop Williamston to meet with clergy, laity, and members of local congregations all across Louisiana.

This is Bishop Williamston's opportunity to meet and greet as many people as possible and listen to United Methodists' hopes and dreams in Louisiana, hear their concerns, and learn of their interests. She also hopes to offer guidance and support for the coming year.

Bishop Williamston will also be participating in worship services and engaging in other activities that will help her gain a deeper understanding of the needs of the people she serves in her role as the new bishop of the Louisiana Conference.

"I am so looking forward to meeting with clergy, laity, and others throughout our great state, and I cannot wait to hear countless stories of how the Holy Spirit continues to stir in Louisiana," said Bishop Williamston. "It is incredibly important for me to cover as much ground as I can in these first few months and to meet as many wonderful United Methodists as I can. I am eager to hear about the concerns and aspirations of the people I am privileged to lead."

Each stop on the tour will have a specific meeting for clergy and laity and will include opportunities for everyone to ask questions and get to know Bishop Williamston. 

The tour will include stops in Shreveport, Monroe, Alexandria, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Baton Rouge, the Northshore, and New Orleans.
