Date Founded: 1888
The church began between 1888 and 1890 under the leadership of Rev. F.N. Sweeney. Land was purchased in 1902 and the church was completed by 1903. There were 35 to 40 members at that time. In 1965, the church was enlarged and renovated. In the early 1980s, the parsonage was sold and the old church was torn down. A new church was built, with the first service in the new building on September 5, 1982. It was named the Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church in memory of the Welsh family. They donated funds for the new church and parsonage.
The church is devoted to ministries just as emphasizing youth activities led by a youth director. They also concentrate on missions, with their Mission in Motion meeting on Fridays and the Second Harvest Food Distribution on the first Thursday of every month. A new Christian Education Center was completed in the spring of 2004.
