Bicentennial Display - Wesley Center
For the 200th anniversary of the first Methodist Society in Louisiana (Opelousas, 1806), a video was produced for Annual Conference 2006. A display of the location of all 500+ UM churches and a 4-paneled historial display were set up outside the gold dome for viewing.
Later that summer, a permanent display of the history of United Methodist in Louisiana was placed on the wall in the hall of the Wesley Center. It is located on the right side of the hall as you walk past the refreshment area.
The other history displays in the cabinet to the left of the foyer and the United Methodist Room (to the left of the foyer) were purchased and set up courtesy of the United Methodist Historical Society of Louisiana.
Large format versions of the photo panels are available here for free. The creator (Tim Hebert) will gladly allow you permission to print copies for your church. The panels at the Wesley Center are 4' wide. There are many online poster printing companies that can print photos that large (or smaller or larger).
Clicking in each panel below opens a larger copy in a new window.
