Emerging worship began in non-denominational churches. In some cases, it may reach younger generations (specifically) who are looking for a different worship experience. United Methodism is looking into how we can best serve those who are looking for a different worship service.
Some view the movement as a back-to-basics approach. It uses some ancient views and combines them with modern culture while minimizing ritual that has evolved through the church over the years.
