Contemporary worship can be found in a variety of formats.

   - A typical characteristic is the use of modern Christian music.
   - It may incorporate technology to project song lyrics, images, and even video as part of the service.
   - Drama may be used as a worship element.
   - The order of worship is usually less structured than a traditional service.

Is your church thinking of adding a contemporary service or changing a traditional service to contemporary?
    1) Research the needs of your existing congregation and potential members in the community. You may want to utilize the Percept demographic service to learn about your community.
     2) Talk to other churches that have made similar changes. You may want to visit them.
     3) Determine what resources (people, equipment, facilities) will be needed to facilitate the change.
     4) If the change is to be made, the congregation should be willing to support the change financially and emotionally. The congregation should be kept informed and their input sought throughout the process.
