Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Jan Holloway Curwick as District Superintendent of the New Orleans District.
This appointment comes after an extensive review of the missional and administrative needs of the District, and after consultation with the New Orleans District Superintendency Committee.
The previously announced shared superintendency model was reconsidered after the District Finance Committee and the Conference Council on Finance and Administration reviewed the work of the District Office.
Rev. Curwick currently serves as Director of Administrative Services for the Louisiana Conference and has previously served as Senior Pastor of St. Francisville UMC and First UMC, Lafayette, and as Associate Pastor at First UMC, Baton Rouge.
It is anticipated that Rev. Curwick will assume the responsibilities of the District Superintendency no later than September 1, 2017.
She will work with Bishop Harvey, the Conference Council on Finance and Administration, and the Mission Staffing Committee to address the staffing needs of the Conference Office of Administrative Services and ensure a smooth transition.
