| IDEAS for DISTRICT DIRECTORS of LAY SPEAKING |
- Make sure you have a copy of the Guide for Conference and District Committees .
- Maintain a list of possible instructors for Basic and Advanced courses.
When at any function, you should be an advocate for the lay speaking program. When someone expresses and interest, and may be qualified as an instructor, be sure to plant the seed in their minds and note their name.
- Put articles in your district newsletter on a regular basis.
- Make sure you know the Basic Course backwards and forwards.
You may be the instructor on more than one occasion. There's a brief outline of the Basic Course, as well as an instructor's version.
- Keep a computerized database of the local and certified lay speakers in your district.
- If you are new to the position, please check out the Guidelines for New Lay Speaking Directors .
