The purpose of the church council in the local church is to plan and implement programs for nurture, outreach, witness, and resources. The council will provide the administrative role as the local church envisions, plans, implements, and annually evaluates the church's mission and ministry. It must meet at least once per quarter. At meetings, it is recommended that nurture, outreach, and witness ministries be covered before other administrative and support matters. Consensus/discernment is the recommended model for decision-making. [Ref. Discipline ¶ 251-252] |
