Comptroller, Conference Office

In June, Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey announced the appointment of Rev. Jan Curwick as the New Orleans District Superintendent. This appointment created a vacancy in the position of Conference Treasurer and Executive Director of Finance and Administrative Services. 

Mr. Kenny Beauvais, Chair of the Council on Finance and Administration of the Annual Conference (CFA), is pleased to announce the plan of transition for this important office. Sandy O’Brien, Comptroller, has been elected by CFA to fill the Conference Treasurer and Executive Director of Administrative Services position. Over the past three years, O’Brien has been the Comptroller for the Conference office, working closely with Curwick in the Finance and Administration Ministry Area. 

In connection with the changes above, the Conference is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Comptroller.

This person should have a familiarity with the workings and nuances of a faith-based or nonprofit organization, share a love of all people, and hold a belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ for mission and ministry of His church and the transformation of the world. The technical skills and experience for the Comptroller position include: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred, 10 plus years of experience in public accounting, or in the internal accounting department of a small to medium size enterprise
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of best accounting practices and procedures and internal controls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and team work skills
