I am bread

I am bread

I’ve been experimenting with a different style of preaching for the current worship series in my Church–”light. bread. name. life.” I typically preach using a narrative style, using stories to share the word. This particular series dives into different scenes of John’s Gospel, whose narrative is so rich, that narrative preaching makes little sense. Now, this “new” style of preaching isn’t new; rather it is exegetical preaching, probably one of the oldest styles of sermon (don’t quote me on that, it’s just a guess). I think this slight change has been well received within the worship service, though it’s casual, conversational style doesn’t translate well within the blogosphere. All of this to say, I’m sorry I haven’t updated my sermons on the blog recently. I know you’ve been waiting with bated breath for my sermons, but I just wanted you to know that I haven’t fallen in some deep pit.

At the conclusion of “light. bread. name. life” I’ll put some links up with more information about the series and how to get copies of the original mini-movies and artwork (Thank you Sarah Duet!). If you would like to know more about “light. bread. name. life,” then I’ll see you on Sunday as we talk about “name,” probably my favorite episode. Blessings!
