The archives facility for the Louisiana Annual Conference is located in the Magale Library at Centenary College in Shreveport, LA [P.O. Box 41188, Shreveport, LA 71134-1188]. Material primarily from former Louisiana Conference B is also stored at the Alexander Library at Dillard Universtiy [2601 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans , LA 70122; (504) 944-8751]

The Historical Register contains a brief history, photo, stats, and a map/directions to the United Methodist churches in Louisiana.

LA UM Historical Society

The Commission on Archives & History approved the formation of a Louisiana United Methodist Historical Society at the 1997 Annual Conference. An organizational meeting was held at the 1998 Annual Conference, at which time the officers were elected.

A joint session of the Commission on Archives and History and the Historical Society was held June 2, 2002. It was decided that we should continue to promote the Society.
